The European Union has accused the Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko of a “gangster-style” approach towards migrants trying to cross the Polish border and trying to force them to make an illegal entry into the EU.
Thousands of people are now camped out along the frontier in freezing temperatures, while Poland has sent extra troops and riot police to shore up its security.
And that’s prompted concerns from Russia, which says it is watching the situation closely.
